To ensure flexibility, Citygrid is interoperable between vendors and prepared for Zhaga d4i-enabled fixtures. Remote monitoring and maintenance are facilitated by the Citygrid Dashboard providing map-based fault reports and overviews. Of course you will also have full access to the Fagerhult support team.

Major potential for energy savings
Lighting accounts for up to 15 percent of global energy consumption. By using smart lighting solutions it is possible to reduce energy consumption by up to 90 percent, cutting costs and reducing the carbon footprint. Citygrid balances the need to minimise energy usage with the needs of the people within the space. The major energy savings are made possible because you can dim the luminaires to a low level, such as to 20 percent, when no one is present. Roads, bike paths and parking spaces remain illuminated at minimum levels when not used. This saves a substantial amount of energy while preserving the sense of security and good visual comfort. To meet various needs in the smart city, Citygrid is available in three different versions: Plug and Play, Adapt and Connect. Citygrid is also certified according to Zhaga d4i to ensure flexibility and interchangeability.
Open and scalable
Citygrid has been developed to be scalable, adaptable and open. It is easy to upgrade to a more advanced Citygrid version, add more luminaires to an existing installation, modify the light characteristics via a smartphone app or upgrade to a cloud-based solution. Any compatible DALI luminaire can be brought into the network, and it is even possible to connect with a City Management System via an API. The system is configured through the Citygrid app available for Android devices (not iOS devices) and downloaded at Google Play. The Citygrid sensor can be integrated in luminaires or installed on a Zhaga socket or a Citygrid On Pole unit.

Enables Bioinclusive Lighting
One of the major benefits of sensor controlled outdoor lighting is the possibility to reduce light pollution and the negative impact on wildlife. The idea behind Bioinclusive Lighting is to create lighting solutions that meet people’s need for light, in balance with the ecosystem, and for a more sustainable future.
By applying Bioinclusive Lighting in urban planning, a more holistic sustainability perspective can be achieved that also caters to biodiversity. With the combination of sensor control and data collection, Citygrid creates the perfect conditions for Bioinclusive Lighting, enabling the adjustment of – for example – colour temperature and light intensity based on presence and time of day.

Municipality of Viborg
The Municipality of Viborg in Denmark has invested in future-proof and energy-efficient outdoor lighting, including an installation in the new Arnbjerg district. Along the residential streets, the beltway and pedestrian and cycling paths in the district, there are about 2,000 luminaires equipped with Citygrid.
